Sunday Gathering

Welcome

We are glad you are here. Riverdeep Church strives to be a welcoming people where others are able to encounter God in meaningful worship and community. Our Sunday gathering seeks to balance a sense of reverence for God, while removing barriers of people seeking to worship. It is a beautiful experience to sing & study in a room with windows fully open to the world. It reminds us that God has called us to live in the world and reach others that they might know His tremendous love through Jesus Christ.

Riverdeep is a small congregation (less than 50) who seek to know God and each other deeply as we raise our families and live our lives as those who have been recipients of God’s incredible kindness. We hope the information below helps you to prepare and plan to worship with us in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world.

What to Expect

The Worship service will begin at 10:30am and will be very simple. Coffee will be served around 10:15 and you are welcome to keep it at your seat throughout the morning. The service will consist of singing hymns and choruses, prayer, the reading of God’s word, sitting under the preaching of God’s word, and a time of reflection and participation in worship.

While we do NOT yet have a nursery for our youngest members, we encourage parents to attend services with their whole family. We believe in the importance of family in discipleship and the need for people of all ages to hear to Gospel. Yes, kids can be squirmy and noisy, but we have also known some full-grown adults to suffer from the same conditions. We love family at Riverdeep and believe it is the chief vehicle where we see the Kingdom multiplied and advanced throughout the world.

Children will be dismissed after the time of singing and prayer, just before the reading and preaching of God’s word. Our hope is that most kids ages 5 and up would be able to stay in service with their parents. We provide listening guides for the youngest ears to help them pay attention and to help parents find opportunities for discussion with the children after service and throughout the week.

Attire

Come as you are. Riverdeep Church is at a unique location where it can and will attract some affluent professionals as well as some impoverished people. This is the nature of inner-city worship, and it is a beautiful foreshadowing and a picture of heaven!

Dress will be casual and you should feel comfortable to wear clothing that is in accordance with your desire to worship. One of the beauties of heaven will be its diversity. As a foretaste of that time, our congregation should also reflect the various tribes and cultures we come from to worship God together. Therefore, find tremendous freedom and liberty to come just as you are to worship the Lord.

Parking

The Edge District is currently flush with plenty of FREE parking! There is a parking lot on the west side of the church building that can accommodate most needs. In addition, there is ample on-street parking up and down Monroe Avenue (past the brewery toward AutoZone Park), as well as on Marshall Avenue (just up from Sun Studios). All of these parking options will have you closer than most megachurches’ parking/shuttle arrangements.

Our only request is that you try to reserve the on-street parking closest to the building’s front door for those with mobility challenges.
